Bank of England has concerns about Brexit

The central bank has warned that exiting the EU without a deal could trigger a more damaging recession for the UK economy than the 2008 financial crisis.

According to Bank’s analysis, GDP could fall by as much as 8% next year, house prices could fall by 30% and the unemployment rate could increase from its current level of 4.1% to about 7.5%, while interest rates could be forced to rise as inflation increased to 6.5%.

In contrast, the Bank also stated that Brexit deal also has the potential to encourage a boost in economic growth over the next five years, if Britain maintains the closest possible trading ties with the EU.

However, all possible outcomes are still worse than if Britain had voted to stay in the EU two years ago, with the Bank estimating that GDP starts all of its scenarios about 1% lower than it would had there been a vote for remain.

According to the International Labour Organization, Britain ranked bottom of a group of nine wealthy nations for its pay performance since 2009.

With a loss in real wage growth of about 5% between 2008 and 2017, the UK performed slightly worse than Italy and far behind other major G20 nations such as the US and Germany.

South Korea had the strongest real wage growth at 15%.

Britain has not been alone in terms of sluggish pay growth, with the ILO data showing real wage growth for workers around the world fell to the slowest rate in almost a decade last year.

Pay growth also remained well below its pre-crisis rate.

Number of the slaughtered chicken increased by 5.6% in May compared with the previous month, and increased by 4% compared with the same month of the previous year. Number of the slaughtered turkey increased by 8.5% in May compared with the previous month, and increased by 52.9% compared with the same month of the previous year.

Chicken meat production was 200 thousand 001 tonnes, turkey meat production realized as 6 thousand 888 tonnes

Chicken meat production increased by 4.4% in May compared with the previous month, and increased by 4% compared with the same month of the previous year. Turkey meat production increased by 15.2% in May compared with the previous month, and increased by 58.3% compared with the same month of the previous year.

Trade war fears hit markets as Trump threatens China investments

Trump’s latest threat against China has hit European markets.

Fears of a trade war between America and China have ratcheted up another notch, hitting confidence in the markets.

Overnight, it’s emerged that President Donald Trump is drawing up a fresh crackdown on Chinese investment in the US.

New rules, which could be announced within days, would prevent firms with at least 25% Chinese ownership from acquiring American companies involved in ‘industrially significant technology’, such as robotics, electronic cars, and aerospace.

Trump is also planning to restrict US companies from selling certain technologies to China, using “enhanced export controls”, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Such a move would further damage relations between Washington and Beijing, following the threat of tit-for-tat tariffs.
