Road Motor Vehicles, July 2019 (In Turkey)

At the end of July, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 23 086 900The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 23 million 86 thousand 900 by the end of July. Within the total, cars represented 54.1%, followed by small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 14.3%, tractors 8.2%, trucks 3.7%, minibuses 2.1%, buses 0.9% and special purpose vehicles 0.3%.

In July, 67 621 road motor vehicle registrations were recorded

Within 67 thousand 621 vehicle registrations in July, cars accounted for 56.9%, followed by motorcycles 27.8%, small trucks 9% and tractors 3.8%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 2.5% of new registrations.

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 61.3% compared with the previous month

In July, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 61.3% compared with the previous month. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 110.9%, 32.6%, 6%, 147.7%, 132.2%, 2.4%, 62.8% and 36.2% respectively.

The number of road motor vehicles registered decreased by 30% compared with the same month of the previous year  

In July, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 30% compared with the same month of the previous year. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors decreased by 31.5%, 56.9%, 51.1%, 51.8%, 27.2%, 10.5%, 39.1% and 36.3% respectively.

In the period of January-July, the total number of road motor vehicles in traffic increased by 220 979

While 159 thousand 855 road motor vehicles were withdrawn, 380 thousand 834 road motor vehicles were added in January-July period. Hence, the total number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 220 thousand 979.

731 426 road motor vehicles handed over in July

Among 731 thousand 426 vehicles handed over⁽¹⁾, cars accounted for 70.6% followed by small trucks 16%, motorcycles 6.2% and tractors 2.4%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 4.8% of the handed over motor vehicles in July.

The ratio of cars registered using LPG was 37.7%

At the end of July, among 12 million 493 thousand 57 registered cars, the share of LPG-fuelled cars was 37.7% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 37.5% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 24.4%. The share of electric or hybrid cars is 0.1% and the cars with unknown⁽²⁾ fuel type was 0.3%.

In July, 38 484 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the 38 thousand 484 new registered cars in July, Renault 20%, Fiat recorded 14.5%, Volkswagen 9.3%, Toyota 7%, Peugeot 5.6%, Hyundai 4.6%, Honda 4.5%, Dacia 4.2%, Ford 3.8%, Nissan 3.8% and the other trademarks 22.6% of the total.

Most frequent engine size was 1501-1600 for registered cars

Within 209 thousand 379 cars registered to traffic in January-July period, 37.6% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 28.9% had 1401-1500, 14.1% had 1301-1400, 12.2% had 1300 or less, 6% had 1601-2000, 1.1% had 2001 and above engine size.

Most frequent colour was white for registered cars

Within 209 thousand 379 cars registered to traffic in January-July period, 53.9% of them were white, 23.6% were grey, 6.7% were black, 5.7% were red and 10.1% were in other colours.
