Lloyds of London returns to profit after catastrophic year for insurers
Lloyds of London has bounced back to profit for the first half of 2018 after experiencing one of the costliest years for natural catastrophes in the past decade.
The famous insurance market announced a profit of £0.6bn in the six months to June, after a £2bn loss last year, which was its first annual loss in six years.
Despite returning to profit, however, the half-year figures have halved compared with £1.2bn in the same period the previous year.
