According to results of the Labour Cost Statistics, which was conducted four yearly to give information on total labour cost of employment to the employer and shares of these cost items within total labour cost, monthly average labour cost was 5 194 TRY for the reference year 2020.
The highest labour cost was in the economic activity of financial and insurance activities
The highest labour cost was observed in K (Financial and insurance activities) sector with the 13 587 TRY. This sector was followed by J (Information and communication) sector with 9 732 TRY and R (Arts, entertainment and recreation) sector with 8 628 TRY. The lowest labour cost was in I (Accommodation and food service activities) sector with 2 703 TRY. This sector was followed by F (Construction) sector with 3 129 TRY and S (Other service activities) sector with 3 751 TRY.

Gross earnings had the greatest share in labour cost with 86.9%
The share of gross earnings within labour cost was 86.9%, the share of social security payments was 13% and the share of other labour cost payments was 0.1%.

The share of the regular payments for days worked within components of earnings was 80.6%
Regular payments for days worked constituted the 80.6% of earnings. The share of payments for days not worked was 9.3%. Where the share of irregular payments for days worked was 9.1%, in kind payments was 0.5% and savings scheme payments was 0.5%.
