If a seaman gets arrested, is it possible for a him to become entitled to severance pay?
A seaman who gets arrested cannot become entitled to severance pay. In accordance with Article 14 of the Maritime Law numbered 854, if a contract is canceled due to a reason not stated in Paragraph I of Article 14, the seaman becomes entitled to severance pay. Imprisonment is stated in Paragraph I of Article 14.
