Labour Input Indices in Türkiye, Quarter IV: October-December, 2022
Employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 7.3% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 7.2%, construction sector increased by 6.8% and trade-services sector increased by 7.4%.
Hours worked index increased by 6.7% annually
Hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 6.7% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 7.1%, construction sector increased by 6% and trade-services sector increased by 6.6%.
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 102.4% annually
Gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 102.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 102.4%, construction sector increased by 96.7% and trade-services sector increased by 103.1%.

Employment index increased by 1.8% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 1.2%, construction sector increased by 3.6% and trade-services sector increased by 1.8%.
Hours worked index increased by 3.4% quarterly
Hours worked index increased by 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 2.7%, construction sector increased by 5.4% and trade-services sector increased by 3.5%.
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 15.1% quarterly
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 15.1% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 15.5%, construction sector increased by 16.1% and trade-services sector increased by 14.8%.

Hourly labour cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 89.7% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 89.4%, construction sector increased by 85.9% and trade-services sector increased by 90.3%.
Hourly earnings index increased by 89.6% annually
Hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 89.6% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 88.9%, construction sector increased by 85.5% and trade-services sector increased by 90.5%.
Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 90.6% annually
Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased by 90.6% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 92.2%, construction sector increased by 87.8% and trade-services sector increased by 89.7%.

Hourly labour cost index increased by 11.5% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 12.8%, construction sector increased by 10.2% and trade-services sector increased by 11%.

Hourly earnings index increased by 11.3% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 12.5%, construction sector increased by 10.1% and trade-services sector increased by 10.9%.
Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 12.6% quarterly
Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 12.6% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 14.7%, construction sector increased by 10.7% and trade-services sector increased by 11.6%.
