Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is planning on integrating the social messaging platforms Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.
The platforms will still be separate but their technical infrastructures will be unified, according to four people working on the project.
The project will merge the top three messaging platforms in the world.
2,6 million people around the world are using the platforms.
Once completed, the project will allow a Facebook user will be able to communicate directly with a Whatsapp user.
It is a key concern whether users will benefit from this merger of the Facebook company, who has been dealing with data privacy scandals.
