After  Italy’s reluctant behavior on reducing its fiscal deficit, The European Union is planning on sanctioning the country.

Italy submitted its 2019 draft budget to the European Commission last month.

The draft includes major spending measures such as guaranteed monthly income for jobless people and de-facto lowering of the pension eligibility age.

The commission rejected the budget, stating it would worsen the country’s deficit.

Italy made no significant revisions on the resubmitted budget, contrary to the commission’s request.
