The principles regarding annual paid leave practices are determined by Articles 53 to 61 of the Labor Law No. 4857 and the regulation explaining the details of the practice. According to the legal regulation, in order to be entitled to annual paid leave, the period of employment with the same employer must be at least 1 year, including the probation period.
Are employees required to be paid travel and meal allowance?
A worker working under an employment contract is required to be paid a wage, provided that it is not below the minimum wage, as required by the Labor Law. The provisions of employment contracts are important for all kinds of payments and benefits to be provided to employees other than wages. Payment of travel and meal allowance to an employee, provision of transportation or provision of meals at the workplace are determined by the provisions of the employment contract.
