Number of works in the museum affiliated to the Culture and Tourism Ministry, was increased by 1% in 2018 compared to 2017 and was 3 million 337 thousand 766.
Number of visitors to museums and ruins affiliated to Ministry increased by 37.3%
Number of visitors museums and ruins affiliated to the Culture and Tourism Ministry which was 28 million 169 thousand 615 was increased by 37.3% in 2018 compared to 2017.
Number of visitors paid to museums and ruins affiliated to Ministry increased by 44.5%
In Turkey, the number of visitors paid for entrance to museums and historical sites affiliated to the Ministry was increased by 44.5% compared to the previous year. The number of visitors paid for entrance to museums and historical sites affiliated to Ministry in 2018 was 65.7% with 18 million 512 thousand 407 visitors. The number of unpaid visitors to museums and archaeological sites was 9 million 657 thousand 208 and share in total visitors was realized as 34.3% in 2018.
Number of available works in the private museums was increased by 2.5%
The current number of works in a private museum increased by 2.5% in 2018 compared to 2017 and was increased to 396 thousand 457.
Number of private museum visitors was increased by 22.9%
The number of private museum visitors was increased by 22.9% in 2018 compared to 2017 and reached to 12 million 478 thousand 229.
Number of immovable cultural properties under responsibility of museums was increased by 2.3%
The number of immovable cultural properties under the responsibility of museums was increased by 2.3% in 2018 compared to 2017 and reached to 108 thousand 810. The largest number of immovable cultural properties under the responsibility of museums was in Istanbul with 31 thousand 599; İstanbul was followed in order by İzmir with 7 thousand 72 immovable cultural properties, by Muğla with 4 thousand 410 immovable cultural properties and by Bursa with 4 thousand 349 immovable cultural properties.
Area of the nature parks was increased by 2.5%
Number of the national parks was increased by 4.8% and the number of nature parks was increased by 9% in 2018 compared to 2017. The area of the national parks was increased by 2.5% and the total area of the nature parks was increased by 3.9% in 2018 compared to 2017. The number of nature parks reached to 243 and total area of them increased to 106 thousand 453 hectares in 2018.
Area of the natural monuments was increased by 3.9%
In 2018, the number of natural monuments was increased by 1% and the area of them was increased by 3.9% compared to 2017. In 2018, the number and the area of the nature protection areas was remained same compared to 2017.
