Crop Production 2nd Estimation, 2019, in Turkey
It was estimated that crop production will increase when compared with the previous year
In the second estimation of 2019, production quantities of cereals and other crops, vegetables will increase by 4.5%, 2.5% respectively while fruits, beverage and spices crops will decrease at a rate by 0.3% when compared with the previous year. Production quantities of cereals and other crops, vegetables and fruits in 2019 were predicted approximately as follows; 65.8 million tonnes for cereals and other crops, 30.8 million tonnes for vegetables, and 22.2 million tonnes for fruits, beverage and spices crops.

It was estimated that cereals production will decrease in 2019 when compared with the previous year
It was estimated that in 2019 cereals production will decrease with a rate of 0.1% when compared with the previous year and approximately become 34.4 million tonnes.
It was estimated that wheat production will decrease by 5% to become 19 million tonnes, barley production will increase by 8.6% and become 7.6 million tonnes, rye production will decrease by 3.1% and become 310 thousand tonnes, oats production will increase by 1.9% and become 265 thousand tonnes, when compared with the previous year.
In the pulses group, it was expected that decrease will occur in broad beans to consume by 6.7% and production approximately become 5.5 thousand tonnes, red lentil will not change and become 310 thousand tonnes and potatoes, one of tuber crops, will increase by 7.7% and become 4.9 million tonnes.
In the group of oil seeds, it was expected that soybean production will increase by 7.1% and become 150 thousand tonnes.
It was estimated that tobacco production will decrease by 7% and become 70 thousand tonnes while sugar beets production will increase by 13.7% and approximately become 19.8 million tonnes.
It was estimated that vegetable production will increase in 2019 compared with the previous year
It was estimated that in 2019, vegetable production will increase with a rate of 2.5% when compared with the previous year and approximately become 30.8 million tonnes.
When examining the production of subgroups of vegetables, root and tuberous vegetables production is expected to increase by 8.1%, production of vegetables cultivated for their fruits is expected to increase by 1.6% and other vegetables not elsewhere classified are expected to increase with the rate of 3.7%.
The production of some important crops in vegetables; increments are expected in tomatoes production by 2.9%, in dry onion by 13.9%, in cucumber by 3.6% while decrements are expected as 2.4% in watermelon, 0.8% in green pepper, 1.7% in eggplant.
It was estimated that fruits production will decrease in 2019 when compared with the previous year
It was estimated that fruits, beverage and spices crops production will be 22.2 million tonnes in 2019 and decrease at a rate by 0.3% when compared with the previous year.
When examining productions of some important fruits, it was estimated that there will be decrements in apple production by 0.3%, in lemons production by 13.6%, in oranges production by 10.5% while there will be increment in quinces production by 1.8% when compared with the previous year.
In the citrus group, a decrease is expected in mandarin production by 15.2%. From nuts, pistachios production is expected to decrease by 64.6%.
It was estimated that figs production will increase by 1.1% and pears production will increase by 1.5%.
