Consumer Price Index, June 2018
Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.61% in June 2018
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 2.61%, on December of the previous year by 9.17%, on same month of the previous year by 15.39% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 11.49% in June 2018.
The highest monthly increase was 5.98% in food and non-alcoholic beverages
In June 2018, the indices rose for communication 4.76%, for transportation 2.66%, for furnishing and household equipment 2.24% and for recreation and culture 2.16%.
The only monthly decrease was 1.15% in clothing and footwear
In June 2018, the index declined only for clothing and footwear amongst the main groups by 1.15%.
The highest annual increase was 24.26% in transportation
Furnishing and household equipment with 18.91%, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 18.89%, miscellaneous goods and services with 16.79% and hotels, cafes and restaurants with 13.30% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 3.69% in TR83 (Samsun, Tokat, Çorum, Amasya)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TR90 (Trabzon, Ordu, Giresun, Rize, Artvin, Gümüşhane) region with 10.52% compared with the December of the previous year, TR63 (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye) region with 17.38% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TR63 (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye) region with 12.58% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In June 2018 within average prices of 407 items in the index, average prices of 58 items remained unchanged while average prices of 289 items increased and average prices of 60 items decreased.
