Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.02% in March 2017
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.02%, on December of the previous year by 4.34%, on same month of the previous year by 11.29% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 8.21% in March 2017.
The highest monthly increase was 1.99% in clothing and footwear
In March 2017, the indices rose for food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.93%, for health 1.88%, for recreation and culture 1.55% and for housing 1%.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco group did not change monthly
In March 2017, there was no group showing decline amongst the main groups.
The highest annual increase was 21.71% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco
Transportation with 17.69%, health with 13.28%, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 12.53%, miscellaneous goods and services with 12.51% were the other main groups where high annual increases were realized.
The highest monthly increase was 1.64% in TRC1 (Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TRC1 (Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis) region with 6.15% compared with the December of the previous year, TR81 (Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın) region with 13.06% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TR62 (Adana, Mersin) region with 9.75% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In March 2017 within average prices of 414 items in the index, average prices of 42 items remained unchanged while average prices of 282 items increased and average prices of 90 items decreased.
