Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.87% in April 2018
A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.87%, on December of the previous year by 4.69%, on same month of the previous year by 10.85% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 11.06% in April 2018.
The highest monthly increase was 10.40% in clothing and footwear
In April 2018, the indices rose for transportation 3.54%, for miscellaneous goods and services 2.32%, for furnishing and household equipment 2.11% and for recreation and culture 1.67%.
The highest monthly decrease was 0.21% in food and non-alcoholic beverages
In April 2018, the other group that indicated a decrease was communication by 0.04% amongst the main groups.
The highest annual increase was 16.75% in furnishing and household equipment
Transportation with 16.45%, clothing and footwear and miscellaneous goods and services with 12.03%, and hotels, cafes and restaurants with 11.88% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 3.19% in TR63 (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TR61 (Antalya, Isparta, Burdur) region with 6% compared with the December of the previous year, TRB1 (Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli) region with 12.55% compared with the same month of the previous year and in TRB2 (Van, Muş, Bitlis, Hakkari) and TRC1 (Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis) region with 12.01% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In April 2018 within average prices of 407 items in the index, average prices of 44 items remained unchanged while average prices of 299 items increased and average prices of 64 items decreased.
