Collection of Residential and Workplace Rents will not be Collected by Hand – Big Penalty! – Draft Communiqué Published on 9.9.2024

The Income Tax General Communiqué explains the obligation to document the collections and payments made in residential and workplace rental transactions through banks or the Post and Telegraph Organization Joint Stock Company. Those who do not comply with the obligation will be subject to certain irregularity penalties.

Penalties for those who do not comply with the certification obligation; if the penalties are lower than the minimum amounts set per transaction, a penalty calculated at the rate of 10% of the transaction amount will be applied. However, tenants will not be penalized if they report the situation within five business days when making a payment. Furthermore, the penalty amounts to be imposed on those who violate the obligation to certify will be increased each year according to the revaluation rate.

The Communiqué gives various examples and explains how to apply penalties in cases where rent payments are made by hand.,
