Service sector had the highest proportion of number of enterprises and employment 

According to temporary results, 43.5% of the active enterprises in 2018 were in service sector and 36.1% were in trade sector. Whereas 37.5% of the total employment was in service sector, 27.5% was in the industry sector.

Trade sector had the highest share of turnover

Trade sector took first place with the 43.2% share of overall turnover. While the turnover of service sector which had the highest share of enterprises and employment was 15.7% and the share of industry sector  was 33%.

Manufacturing had the highest share of turnover in industry sector

In the industry sector by Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE) Rev. 2, manufacturing had 85.4% share of turnover. 10.9% of turnover was in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, 2.2% was in mining and quarrying, 1.5% was in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.

Transport and storage had the highest share of turnover in service sector

Transport and storage took first place with the 37.8% share of turnover. Service sections which have high turnover shares, administrative and support service activities with 14.1%, accommodation and food service activities with 12.2%, professional, scientific and technical activities with 10.9% and information and communication with 10.8% followed respectively.

56.7% of manufacturing industry enterprises placed in low techology activities

In 2018, enterprises placed in low techology activities in manufacturing industry has 51.1% of total employment and 36.8% of total turnover.
