Income and Living Conditions Survey Regional Results, 2018, in Turkey
In 2018, whereas the annual average equivalised household disposable income of Turkey was 24 thousand 199 TL, TR10 İstanbul was the region having the highest annual average equivalised household disposable income with 34 thousand 912 TL within the SR Level 2. It was followed by TR21 region including Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli provinces and TR51 Ankara with annual average equivalised household disposable income 29 thousand 952 TL and 29 thousand 847 TL respectively.
The regions with the lowest annual average equivalised household disposable income were TRB2 region including Van, Muş, Bitlis, Hakkari provinces with 10 thousand 965 TL, TRC3 region including Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, Siirt provinces with 11 thousand 204 TL and TRC2 region including Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır provinces with 11 thousand 357 TL.

The lowest income inequality realized in TRB1 region including Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli provinces
Gini coefficient one of the measures of inequality varies between 0, which reflects complete equality, and 1, which indicates complete inequality.
Gini coefficient was 0.408 for Turkey in 2018 whereas the lowest values realized in TRB1 region including Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli provinces with 0.305, TR81 region including Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın provinces with 0.308, and TRA1 region including Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt provinces, with 0.313. The regions with the highest Gini coefficient were TR10 region including İstanbul province 0.444, TR62 region including Adana, Mersin provinces 0.402 and TR21 region including Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli provinces 0.401.
TR10 region including İstanbul province got the lowest S80/S20
S80/S20 ratio calculated as the ratio of total income received by the 20% of the population with the highest income to that received by the 20% of the population with the lowest income. In 2018 the income of the richest quintile was 7.8 times higher than the income of the poorest quintile for Turkey.
The regions with the highest values were in TR10 region including İstanbul province 8.6, TR21 region including Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli provinces 7.2 and TR62 region including Adana, Mersin provinces 7.1.
The lowest S80/S20 ratio were in TRB1 region including Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli provinces, TRA1 region including Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt provinces and TR81 region including Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın provinces with 4.5, TRC1 region including Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis provinces with 5 and TR32 region including Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, TR33 region including Manisa, Afyon, Kütahya, Uşak and TR42 region including Kocaeli, Sakarya, Düzce, Bolu, Yalova provinces with 5.1.
The region with the lowest relative at-risk-of-poverty-rate was TRC1 region including Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis provinces
The SR Level 2 regions with the highest relative at-risk-of-poverty-rate which is calculated based on the poverty threshold set at 50% of the equivalised household disposable median income of each region were TR21 region including Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli provinces with 13.5%, TR10 region including İstanbul province and TR62 region including Adana, Mersin provinces with 12.7% and TR82 region including Kastamonu, Çankırı, Sinop provinces with 12.4%.
TRC1 region including Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis provinces with 5%, TR81 region including Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın provinces with 7.2% and TRB1 region including Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli provinces with 7.7% were the regions to have the lowest relative at-risk-of-poverty-rate.

The regions with the highest relative at-risk-of-poverty-rate calculated based on the poverty threshold set at 60% of the median income were TR10 (İstanbul) 21%, TR62 (Adana, Mersin) 20.4% and TR21 (Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli) 20.1%. TR81 (Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın), TRC3 (Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, Siirt) and TRB1 (Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli) regions had the lowest relative at-risk-of-poverty-rate with 11.9%, 13.2% and 13.4% respectively.
