Total annual circulation of newspapers/magazines decreased by 17.6% in 2018 compared to 2017. Total annual circulation of the newspapers/magazines published in our country was 1 billion 368 million 287 thousand 463 in 2018 and 94.2% of this was newspapers’ circulation.

The 91.3% of the newspapers published locally
The 91.3% of the newspapers published in 2018 were local, 6.9% was national and 1.8% was regional publications. For the magazines, 64.3% was national, 31.4% was local and 4.3% was regional. The 81.6% of the total annual newspaper circulation was national newspapers, 17.6% was local and 0.7% was regional newspapers. For magazines, 75.6% of the total annual magazine circulation was national magazines, 20.9% was local and 3.6% was regional magazines.
The 24% of the magazines published monthly
The 29.6% of the newspapers were published weekly, 28.2% of them were published two-six times a week and 16.2% of them were published monthly. The 24% of the magazines were published monthly, 22.4% of them were published quarterly and 15.9% of them were published biannually. The 87.1% of total annual newspaper circulation was daily newspapers, 8.3% was from the newspapers published two-six times a week and 2.3% was weekly newspapers. For magazines, 56.3% of the total annual magazine circulation was monthly magazines while 11.4% was quarterly, 10.2% was bimonthly and 8.3% was weekly magazines.
The 87.8% of the newspapers had political/news/actual content
The 87.8% of the newspapers had political/news/actual content while 2.2% of them had local administration content and 1.9% of them had sector-specific/professional content. The 17.5% of the magazines had sector-specific/professional content while 13.8% of them had academic and 8.5% of them had education/examination content.
The 10.4% of the newspapers gave supplements
The 10.4% of the newspapers and the 8.2% of the magazines published gave supplements.
Official announcement and advertising fees increased by 2.2%
According to the administrative data of Press Advertising Agency; the total official announcement and advertising fees increased by 2.2% in 2018 compared to 2017 and reached the amount of 454 million 398 thousand 951 TL.
