Domestic Producer Price Index, May 2019

Domestic producer price index increased by 2.67%

Domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by  2.67% on monthly basis, by 7.99% on December of the previous year basis, by  28.71% on same month of the previous year basis and by 32.85% on the twelve months moving averages basis in May 2019.

D-PPI increased by 1.87% for mining and stone quarrying, by 2.87% for manufacturing, by 1% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, decreased by 2.51% for water supply compared with the previous month.

The highest monthly increase was in tobacco products

The highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were index for tobacco products by 10.27%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 7.08%, for coke and refined petroleum products by 6.57%. On the other hand monthly decreases in D-PPI by sub divisions of industry were furniture by 3.05%, for water; water treatment and supply services by 2.51%, for wearing apparel by 0.48%.

The highest monthly increase in main industrial groupings was in nondurable consumer goods

According to main industrial groupings classification in May 2019, the highest rate of monthly increases was in nondurable consumer goods and the highest rate of annual increases was in energy.
