Foreign Trade Indices in Türkiye, April 2023
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 1.1% in April. In the same month, compared to April 2022, while the index for food, beverages and tobacco, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 7.5%and 3.4%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels)and fuels decreased by 10.8% and 24.3%, respectively.
The overall export volume index decreased by 18.1%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 18.1% in April. Compared with April 2022, while the index for fuels increased by 0.8%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 13.5%, 6.6% and 21.2%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index decreased by 16.7%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index decreased by 16.7% in April. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 9.6%, 19.6%, 44.4% and 5.2%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 14.3%
In April, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 14.3%. While the index for crude materials (except fuels) decreased by 14.4%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 30.5%, 14.5% and 13.9%, respectively.
