As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 12.0% in October. In the same month, compared to October 2020, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 8.1%, 19.6%, 100.3% and 10.1%, respectively.
The overall export volume index increased by 7.3%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 7.3% in October. Compared with October 2020, while the index for fuels decreased by 8.8%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 8.8%, 10.1% and 8.6%, respectively.

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 39.0% in October. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 23.1%, 53.9%, 184.0% and 18.7%, respectively.
The overall import volume index decreased by 18.8%
In October, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 18.8%. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco increased by 6.9%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 17.5%, 8.7% and 14.4%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 1.5%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 147.8 in September 2021, increased by 1.5%, to 150.1 in October 2021. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 144.3 in October 2020, increased by 11.6%, to 161.1 in October 2021.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 6.5%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 105.7 in September 2021, decreased by 6.5%, to 98.8 in October 2021. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 114.4 in October 2020, decreased by 16.1%, to 96.0 in October 2021.

Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 98.3 in October 2020, it decreased by 19.1 points to 79.2 in October 2021.
