Turkey ranked sixth in automobile sales in Europe in 2020, the Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) announced.
Despite the negative effects of Covid-19 outbreak roiling global markets, supply chains and exports, Turkey sealed sixth position in terms of automobile sales in 2020, up from its rank as ninth in 2019.
As automobile sales in the EU, Britain and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states scored 11.96 million in 2020, falling 24.35 percent year-on-year, Turkey fared as the only country in Europe where car sales saw a rise in 2020. A total of 610,109 units were registered in Turkey in 2020, increasing 57.5 percent year-on-year.
